PASTORAL CARE

PASTORAL CARE

At Woodcroft College, the Pastoral Care Program plays an integral role in the life of our students.

We recognise who we are teaching is as important as what we are teaching. We understand the important link between wellbeing and development and learning.

Each aspect of a student’s academic, spiritual, physical, emotional and social development is valued. We want our students to feel safe to explore their passions, make mistakes and grow into confident, capable and ethical young people.

Help and support is always on hand. Our staff share a pastoral responsibility to provide a nurturing environment and to know and appreciate each student as an individual.

The College also employs qualified counsellors to provide additional counselling and emotional wellbeing support.

Specific Year level structured personal development programs are delivered across Middle and Senior School.

Closely aligned with our Pastoral Care Program is Religious and Values Education (RAVE) under the direction of the College Pastor.  We recognise faith as a personal experience and we are an inclusive community. Our RAVE lessons provide the space to explore spirituality, to understand living with purpose and to support the development of good character and values.

Dedicated support for International Students

Dedicated care and support for international students is also provided by the International Student Coordinator and the International Academic Advisor.

The International Student Coordinator will support students in preparing to come to Woodcroft College, orientation on arrival and day to day life at school. The Coordinator is a key liaison between students, families, Happy Homestay Adelaide and Woodcroft College staff.

The Academic Advisor has responsibility for the Intensive English course and will provide ongoing support when students move to their main course. The Advisor will support students in class and help them to organise their study timetables. The Advisor will meet with students to discuss study concerns and will provide subject counselling to help students achieve their future study and work goals after school.

Woodcroft College wants every international student to have a positive experience at school and at home.
