ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Canterbury College is an award-winning Kindergarten to Year 12 co-educational school in Queensland, Australia inspiring confident, self-disciplined young people to achieve outstanding results.

Located in beautiful Queensland Australia, halfway between the beaches and lifestyle of the Gold Coast and the excitement of Brisbane City, on 32 hectares of countryside.

Unlocking leadership potential of students is an important element of the pastoral programs offered at the College with numerous opportunities available to encourage personal growth and emotional and social responsibilities.

We offer students access to a future of unlimited technological innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), learning through a diverse range of academic courses, extracurricular, exciting extension programs and excursions. (STEM Brochure)

On campus, the High School Preparation (HSP) Course, develops English language and vocabulary skills for Middle School and Senior School.

Our Canterbury-managed Homestay program provides international students with the opportunity to experience life with a local family and is the best way for students to improve their English.  Each student is placed with a carefully selected homestay family.  Our comprehensive Home to Homestay transition program ensures students are well prepared for their new life in Australia.

The Canterbury College Arts Academy offers talented students extension and enrichment experiences with pathways to careers in the Arts. (Performing Arts Brochure)

Our Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway at Canterbury College provides students in Years 10, 11 and 12 with the opportunity to include Certificate and Diploma courses in their study program for their Senior Schooling.

Canterbury students also gain experiences and skills outside the classroom, through camps, retreats, workshops and other on-campus activities and excursions that are academically-focused.

Canterbury College provides year-round opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports and clubs suitable for all skill levels and interests. (Sports Brochure)

By welcoming international students and visitors to our school, we enrich our community with an understanding of cultural similarities and differences and an awareness of global issues so that our students may consider their roles and responsibilities as global citizens.

We have enjoyed the presence of international students from Japan, Romania, Bolivia, Germany, Turkey, South Korea, Vietnam, Italy, France, Myanmar, China, Thailand, Peru and many other countries, and look forward to welcoming many more.
