Our culture of academic excellence, supported by a comprehensive student wellbeing program and an extensive range of sports, performing arts, outdoor education and service opportunities, develops well-rounded, confident and compassionate young adults ready to make a positive contribution to our world.

Our students enjoy strong results in both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) and NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC). We have offered the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for 35 years, and approximately half our senior students undertake the IB each year.

The opportunities given to students in order for them to truly let their light shine include:

Academic

Students are challenged and supported to achieve personal excellence through our Redlands Learning Platform, a Harvard University based program and iGrow Personalised Student Data Tree, which holistically tracks and fosters the academic growth and wellbeing of every student.

In the 2024 HSC and IB Examinations:

  • 13 students achieved an ATAR of 98 or more
  • 40 students achieved an ATAR of 95 or more
  • 74 students achieved an ATAR of 90 or more
  • 86 students were awarded 239 Top Band Results

High Potential Learning Program

At Redlands, we are committed to fostering the growth of high potential and gifted students through a dynamic and personalised approach. Our differentiated curriculum offers tailored enrichment, extension and acceleration opportunities that empower students to exceed age-level expectations and excel in their areas of strength. By providing opportunities inside and beyond the classroom, our High Potential Learning Program transforms high potential into high performance.

Leadership

Leadership, team building, commitment and resilience are life skills that students develop through a range of leadership programs from Years 7-12. Leadership opportunities offered to students include representing their Year Group on the Student Representative Council, participating in the Peer Support program or developing their leadership skills during the annual Curriculum Camps. Leadership opportunities culminate in Year 12, with the election of a range of Captains: School, Sports, Arts, Environment, Service, House Captains and Captains of Activities.

Experiential and Outdoor Education

Outdoor Education programs are a vital part of a Redlands education aiming to enhance students’ perceptions of their abilities, improve self-confidence, add to essential life skills and develop a deep respect for the natural environment through our annual Year Group camp program.

The Redlands High Country Campus in Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains region offers the greatest array of possibilities for both curriculum fieldwork and experiential learning. In Year 9, students spend a term at the High Country Campus in the Moonbah experiential learning program and in Year 10 students may also elect to attend Winter School at the High Country Campus during Term 3, where they combine snowsports training with the academic studies. In Year 10, students travel to North-East Arnhem Land in a week-long indigenous cultural immersion program with the Yolngu people, run by Culture College. In addition, all students from Year 9 onwards have the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
