ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All students who do not have English as their first language are required to sit an English Language Assessment Test provided by Australian Education Assessment Services (AEAS) and to submit the result to Genazzano FCJ College as part of their application.

All new students and their families will participate in an interview with the Principal or their delegate before a formal offer is made. This interview is an opportunity to meet each other and discuss the learning, medical or pastoral needs of the student. Both the student and parent must be present for this interview.

Following the interview, a formal offer of a place may be made. To accept this place, a non-refundable enrolment fee is required along with the return of written agreements between the College and families detailing the services to be provided, fees payable and information in relation to the refund of course fees.

After acceptance of a place, Genazzano will issue the documentation required for students to obtain a student visa and organise overseas student health cover. As a condition of their visa for studies in Australia, the Australian Government requires health insurance to be paid in advance for the length of the student’s visa. This visa will be issued for the length of the course of schooling.

All international students without parents in Melbourne, including students over 18 years old, must have an International Student Advocate (ISA). An Appointment of International Student Advocate Form must be completed at the time of enrolment. ISA’s must live in Melbourne and act as an additional support person for girls who are in Australia without their parents. The College must be informed and approve of any changes to ISA arrangements.

Strict accommodation requirements apply, with all students required to live in the College Boarding House or with a parent. This also applies to students over 18 years of age.
