PASTORAL CARE

Our pastoral care program is designed to ensure that all students feel safe, supported, confident and happy during their time at Canterbury College. Form teachers, our inclusive education team, College Chaplain, leadership team, and our Guidance Counsellor and Careers Counsellor all look after student wellbeing, and we have a range of programs in place to assist students.

Student leaders also act as mentors to peers and younger students, while our mindful meditation, retreat days and multi-sensory room ensure students always have their needs met.

Confidential personal counselling is offered to students across all year levels through the fully qualified and experienced in-house counsellors. Our counsellor can assist with educational, personal, social, emotional and behavioural concerns about such areas as peer pressure and conflict, behaviour management, conflict resolution, self-esteem and body image. 

Our International students have access to the Coordinator of International Student Welfare whose specialist role is to assist International students transition to their new environment.

Our comprehensive Home to Homestay transition plan is designed to assist students settling into their new home.
