PASTORAL CARE

PASTORAL CARE

Loreto Normanhurst offers a comprehensive and deeply personalised pastoral care program that supports the wellbeing and growth of every student—day and boarding. The school’s approach is grounded in the belief that each girl should be known, valued, and cared for as an individual, and that positive relationships are essential to flourishing across the FACE Curriculum (Faith, Academic, Community and Pastoral, Extra-Curricular).

Loreto House System, Conversations, and Holistic Plenaries

Each student belongs to one of eight Houses, each with seven Tutor Groups spanning Years 7–12, fostering cross-year friendships and belonging. A Head of House oversees student care and development. Students have regular 1:1 Conversations with their Tutor or Advisor to reflect on goals and growth, complemented by Holistic Plenary meetings where they lead discussions with parents and their Tutor or Advisor to build self-awareness and shared understanding.

OakSEED Program

Our OakSEED Program (Social and Emotional Educational Development), developed in collaboration with clinical psychologist Dr Danielle Einstein, strengthens the school’s whole-of-community approach to wellbeing. It focuses on building resilience, emotional literacy, and protective factors for mental health.

Health and Wellness

Students have access to the Mary Ward Health and Wellness Centre, which includes onsite registered nurses, visiting doctors, and school counsellors. Counselling services are available daily during school hours and after hours for boarding students.

Support for International Students

International students are supported by a dedicated team including House Tutors, Boarding Staff, an EALD teacher, Heads of House, School Psychologists, and Careers Counsellors, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing care throughout their time at Loreto Normanhurst.
