Genazzano’s value lies at the intersection of a specialist girls’ education, in a contemporary Catholic environment, that recognises the unique journey of every student.

Our Early Learning Centre, Kindergarten for 3 and 4 year old boys and girls, is a place of wonder, where children can be observed deeply engaged in learning that stimulates, challenges and provokes their thinking, curiosity and inquiring minds. The valued partnership with families and our ELC team supports each child to gain a greater understanding of themselves and their world, becoming competent, compassionate and community-minded children.

Our dynamic inquiry-based programs provide a balance of child led play-based learning, guided play, and teacher led instructional learning. The learning environment and curriculum is designed around the individual strengths, interests and needs of each child, whilst viewing the group as a whole community.

The Junior School, Prep to Year 6, is where we lay a strong foundation for learning and building confidence. It is a time when girls are given the freedom and guidance to grow, develop and understand the world around them. We focus on the core competencies of literacy and numeracy; and offer specialist subjects including languages, science, physical education, art, music, drama and information literacy.

Genazzano FCJ College is an International Baccalaureate Candidate School* for the Primary Years Programme - a commitment to high quality, challenging international education. The student is at the centre of all our learning. We want our students to become confident and open minded learners and communicators who are ready to take on the world whether that be in their local, national and global communities and to strive to make a better and more peaceful world, promoting intercultural understanding and respect.

At Genazzano our approach to Inquiry learning is about presenting the students with relevant and engaging learning experiences that go beyond their homeroom and connect with specialist classes to explore central ideas and develop positive learner attributes.

* Only schools authorised by the IB Organisation can offer any of its four academic programmes:  The Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP).  Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted.  For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org.

The Senior School programs are differentiated to ensure every student is challenged and their learning program is individualised to their particular needs. Our Learning and Teaching programs are informed by the latest educational research and theory. We adopt an evidenced based approach to curriculum development, design and delivery. We have a learning environment that is technologically rich and allows for multi-modal approaches to learning and teaching. Students are encouraged to be independent learners who are curious and creative in their approach to problem solving. Our rigorous curriculum is complimented by a focus on the development on Future Skills our students need to help them adapt to life in an ever changing, technologically rich world. As students’ progress through the Senior School they are encouraged to make decisions about their own learning pathways.

Years 7 and 8 provides a rich and challenging academic, social learning environment that encourages students to strive for individual excellence. Learning programs are developed using the Victorian Curriculum centred on building deep levels of understanding, thinking creatively and risk taking in their learning.

The Senior School, Years 9 to 12, encourages students to make decisions about their own learning pathways by exploring new areas of study and selecting electives from a variety of disciplines.  Genazzano offers the VCE ATAR (University) pathway, the VCE VM (Vocational Major) pathway and the VPC (Victorian Pathways Certificate).
