ACADEMIC CARE

ACADEMIC CARE

At St Catherine’s, the wellbeing of our students guides everything we do. We believe that when girls develop a strong sense of identity, purpose and belonging, they don’t simply participate, they flourish. This belief underpins our Academic Care Program, which extends well beyond the classroom to support wellbeing, learning and personal growth across every stage of school life.

Our Academic Care program is holistic in nature. With care, connection and character at its core, the program nurtures positive emotions, resilience, academic tenacity and strong relationships. Through consistent, visible and intentional wellbeing practices, every student is known, connected, challenged and assured throughout her school journey with us. Our approach is deeply embedded in daily school life because we know that meaningful care must be consistent, cohesive and visible. We intentionally strengthen relationships within year groups while also fostering cross‑year connections, helping students build confidence, belonging and resilience as part of a connected K–12 community.

The program is guided by a dedicated Student Care team who work closely with students and families to proactively notice early signs of change, respond with compassion and expertise, and ensure each girl receives support tailored to her needs. Further high‑quality, confidential support is also available whenever students need it, with support from our School Psychologist and School Nurse. Through our structured Student Care Pathway, students receive support from the right person, at the right time. Families are kept closely informed through regular communication, progress updates and meetings, creating a strong partnership between home and school.

Through Academic Care, our girls develop self‑awareness, self‑management and optimism. They come to understand that they possess the skills, character and confidence to navigate challenges and change. Our aim is simple and profound: that every girl who leaves St Catherine’s steps into the world ready to shape her own path with courage, compassion and purpose.

Global enrichment

When your daughter attends St Catherine’s she will have the opportunity to take up immersive language exchanges, service and cultural tours.
Through our global enrichment program, we give students the opportunity to gain an understanding of international issues and to discover diverse cultures. Studying language and culture at school and then boosting this with an exchange or course-specific tour prepares your daughter for a global future.

Global tours
Our global tours deepen learning through real‑world experience and connection:

  • Cambodia Service Tour (Year 10): A 12‑day service experience working alongside local communities to contribute to projects that support improved living conditions.
  • Dance and Drama Tour: A 12‑day tour through cultural capitals, focused on performance, creativity and inspiration.
  • Music Tour: Performance‑based tours offering students the opportunity to rehearse, perform and engage with global audiences.
  • Sport Tours: Competitive and training tours at international sporting destinations.

International Exchanges
St Catherine’s offers a range of reciprocal cultural and language exchanges that support immersion, independence and global connection:

  • Switzerland Cultural Exchange (Year 10): A four‑week exchange with Freies Gymnasium, Zurich
