PASTORAL CARE

PASTORAL CARE

The St Paul's Approach

Our school's three core values are faith, learning and community.  By Faith and by Learning we strive to grow in Community with God and each other, valuing each person and creating an environment in which all may flourish.

House System

All students at St Paul's School are placed into one of five Houses, which run from Pre-Prep through to Year 12.  The House System forms the foundation of a student's journey at St Paul's. Students compete under their House's flag in all-School events such as the swimming carnival, cross country and athletics carnival, while also attending chapel and tutor groups within their Houses.

Vertical Tutoring

Vertical tutoring means that, for 20 minutes each day, 18-20 students across different year groups meet, to help facilitate mentoring and leadership opportunities for students.

Each tutor group has two adult tutors – a teacher and non-teacher.  This significantly increases the potential for peer-to-peer mentoring while also building stronger partnerships between the tutor, student and parents.

Pastoral care in the Junior School

Junior School at St Paul's provides the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.  Students develop both a strong grasp of the basics while also learning to free their minds to new possibilities and ideas.

Counselling

Regular counselling sessions are held for students and families with up-to-date news and advice on various topical issues.

Chaplains

St Paul's School is an Anglican school that welcomes students of all backgrounds and faiths.  Our school employs a Chaplain who cares for the entire school community, both Junior and Secondary Schools.  Our Chaplain regularly meets with students offering support and pastoral care, while also providing spiritual guidance and leadership to any student who wishes to explore the truth of Christianity further.

Student Protection

Protection for children and young people is of paramount importance and Anglican Schools are required to follow the diocesan policy. St Paul's School and the Anglican Diocese have established formal policies and procedures which are available from the school.  For further information, please visit our WEBSITE.
