Woodcroft College Curriculum

At Woodcroft we aim to create the conditions for high quality teaching and learning to thrive. We are proud to develop our students as people and as learners.

All students are taught the Australian curriculum with Junior School students engaging with the IB Primary Years Program.

The Junior School (Reception to Year 6) provides young learners with the opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional and problem-solving skills they will need throughout their schooling. A major focus of our Junior School is to develop positive self-esteem, helping young children feel confident about who they are, and to encourage them in their ability to take on the challenges of new learning in a caring and nurturing environment.

Our Junior School is committed to laying a solid foundation to support all students in their learning throughout their educational journey from pre-school to Year 12.

The Middle School (Years 7-9) is committed to encouraging students to discover, explore and engage with learning. One of the strengths of Middle School is that there are many opportunities for students to develop their passions through the subjects offered along with the many extra-curricular options. We understand the importance of a student experiencing a broad curriculum so that they are better prepared to choose their pathway in Senior School. We cater for a wide range of learning needs and offer academic experiences that will develop a student's knowledge, attitudes and skills for their ongoing studies.

Our Middle School is committed to encouraging all students to achieve their personal best.

The Senior School (Years 10-12) is the space and place for students to flourish in their individual strengths as they prepare to pursue their chosen pathway in life after school.

With a range of subject choices, the curriculum is broad and challenging. From core subjects and electives in Year 10 to the choice of over 40 compulsory and elective subjects as part of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and Vocational Education and Training. Extensive subject selection and career counselling is offered to each of our students to help them understand options and post-school choices.

Senior School is not only about study. With an extra-curricular program including sporting and music activities along with leadership opportunities, students will be encouraged to find a good balance and have the opportunity to flourish.

Our Senior School is committed to providing students with a holistic education, great opportunities, and a head start in life.

South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE)

In the Senior School, students study the internationally recognised SACE or its Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway.

On completion of their schooling, students enter courses at Adelaide University, Flinders University or the University of South Australia as well as universities interstate and overseas.
