Applicants should present current Academic Transcripts which display a strong commitment to academic progress as well as a genuine desire to achieve to their full potential.

As all classes at Billanook College are conducted in English, applicants must complete an English Language Proficiency Assessment and submit certified copies of test results to Billanook College as part of their application process.

Billanook College requires applicants to undertake the Australian Education Assessment Services (AEAS) Test. For more information visit the AEAS Website.

Applicants should arrange to sit the AEAS Test no less than 6 – 8 months prior to their desired commencement date at Billanook College.

Acceptable Benchmark AEAS Test Results

  • Years 7 – 9:  AEAS 50  plus Stanine 6 minimum on Math and Non-Verbal Reasoning
  • Year 10:  AEAS 55  plus Stanine 6 minimum on Math and Non Verbal Reasoning
  • Year 11:  AEAS 65  plus Stanine 6 minimum on Math and Non Verbal Reasoning

Attainment of these benchmarks may result in Billanook College making an Unconditional Direct Entry Offer. In the event that the applicant does not achieve the AEAS level required, Billanook College may consider other variables in making a Conditional Enrolment Offer.  Agents are encouraged to present such applicants on a case-by-case basis to the International Students Program Manager. Billanook College may consider such applicants subject to satisfactory completion of an approved ELICOS Program in line with the AEAS Test recommendations.

Most students will be required to undertake an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) before they commence formal studies at Billanook College.  The number of weeks of ELICOS recommended by the AEAS Test result shall be a guide only, as consideration must be given to appropriate dates of commencement of mainstream studies in the Australian academic year.

Agents should discuss and negotiate the Billanook College requirements for each specific applicant prior to applying for an ELICOS enrolment.

Billanook College recommends all of the following ELICOS Centres:

Billanook College reserves the right, in the case of Conditional Offers, to implement final Offer Confirmation Testing prior to the student completing their ELICOS Program. This may be an Internal Assessment Process or may involve the student being required to sit or re-sit the AEAS Test onshore.

In the event that an applicant has already completed an alternative English Language Proficiency Test to the AEAS test, consideration may be given to those test results.
