ABOUT THE SCHOOL

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Introduction

Oxley Christian College is a coeducational, independent school with a fine reputation for excellence. We offer high-quality education and pastoral care in a safe and secure environment for students from Prep through to Year 12. The College has a magnificent 30 Ha site in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne with quick access to major shopping centres.

History

Oxley was one of the first secondary schools in Victoria to offer education to international students. Our International Program commenced in 1986 and offers places to students mainly from Asia and Europe. For over 37 years, Oxley’s International program has been successfully preparing international students for university entrance in Australia and around the world.

Partnerships

Oxley is privileged to be part of a small group of selected schools in partnership with The University of Melbourne. It is known as MSPI, Melbourne Schools Partnership International. We have the support of The University of Melbourne, which offers leadership prizes, study opportunities and extra-curricular support for some of our senior international students.

Values

Oxley promotes Christian virtues and values as the foundation for personal nurturing and flourishing. We believe that all schooling occurs within cultural commitments and that there is no neutral form of education. Education shapes us in the ways we go on to influence others making us capable and compassionate participants in any version of the future students may have to face. The essential outcomes of such an education are the development of Christian character combined with 21st Century skills training.

Our mission is to prepare confident, articulate students with skills, wisdom and maturity to live in the present moment while shaping the future for the common good of humanity.
