ADMISSION PROCESS

ADMISSION PROCESS

Academic Requirements

Students must provide evidence of satisfactory academic performance appropriate to entry to the year level requested on the Application for Enrolment. For Year 8 – 12 students this is a pass level or “B” grade or better for the majority of core subjects.

The stages of admission are as follows:

Application

All applicants are required to complete and lodge an Application for Admission Form and submit the following documents with their application:

  • Passport or birth certificate
  • Most recent school reports – minimum of 2 years
  • Results of any public examinations
  • Reference letter from current school
  • English Test Report

English Language Testing

Scotch College will arrange an interview for the applicant with our relevant staff. We recommend International students sit the AEAS/IELTS test.

The results of the AEAS/IELTS test will be sent to Scotch College with a recommendation of the number of weeks required to study Intensive English prior to the student starting.

Formal Offers of Admission

Once the relevant paperwork has been received all international students will be required to attend an interview either in person or via WeChat or Zoom. If the outcome of the interview is successful an offer of admission will be made, generally on or after 1 March in the year preceding entry, although if places are available, offers can be made up to 6 months prior to entry.

Acceptance of a place of admission requires international applicants to complete and sign the following documents:

  • Confirmation of Place
  • Enrolment Agreement
  • Health and Personal Details Form
  • Declaration of Understanding

Payment of Fees & Visa Application

International students are required to pay one semester’s tuition and annual boarding fees in advance. Scotch College will then issue the applicant with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) Form and Welfare Statement, which will enable the applicant to apply for a student visa (Student Visa - subclass 500).

Health Cover

International students are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) with Allianz. Payment for health cover must be made in advance.
