ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

English Language Requirement

International students require an adequate command of English so that they can manage the work in mainstream classes. Scotch College encourages the applicant to sit the Australian Education Assessment Service (AEAS) test before being considered for a place. The results of the test will determine any need for additional intensive English courses. Students can attend our Culture and Language Immersion Program (CLIP) until they reach an appropriate level of English so they can join mainstream classes.

To enter Middle School (Years 7, 8 & 9), students need to achieve a score of 46 on the AEAS test, for entry into our CLIP class for a maximum of 20 weeks. The student is expected to achieve an equivalent score of 71 within those 20 weeks in order to transition to mainstream classes, with EAL/D support.

A score of 80 on the AEAS test allows the student to enter directly into mainstream classes, with EAL/D support.
